This promises much - I'm dead excited to see more, Will. Prose big n' bouncy, story intriguing, approach fresh and startling.

“She looked up as the blower rumbled to life, manhandling its tube into battle position, holding it with both hands like Montana’s little friend.”

The whole damn thing is great but this line especially made me chuckle.

Will, you're brilliant at painting a picture. "Magic stench geysering out her widened mouth" is pretty fantastic. Always look forward to your work.

Some of the things going through my head when I read this: I'll never be this good - I gotta step it up - I want this to be a novel in my hands.

Sean, bud, you’re the best. Don’t listen to those thoughts, it ain’t a contest and your writing has touched so many

Expand full comment

Oh I meant this in the best way. I love when writers / stories push me. I love it. I'll listen to those thoughts and get to work. It's not a contest for me; it's seeing what can be done that I'm not yet doing.

I know the feeling. Sometimes my brain makes it a contest but it’s just too fun to be a contest. I love being pushed as well and I feel the same feeling you describe hit me when I read your work too
